Yom Kippur

Najświętszy dzień roku według kapłańskiego kalendarza przypada na Jom Kippur, Dzień Pojednania. W dniu tym arcykapłan wchodzi do miejsca najświętszego z krwią ofiarną, by dokonać aktu pokuty w imieniu ludu (III Księga Mojżeszowa 16). Dołączmy do mesjanistycznych wyznawców, spędzając czas od wtorku wieczorem (25. września) do środy wieczorem (26. września) w modlitwie, pokucie i poście Znajdźcie chwilę spokoju, by czytać Pismo, rozmyślać nad dziełem krzyża, pokutować i pozwolić, by krew Jezusa oczyściła Wasze serca i odnowiła Waszego ducha.

The holiest day of the year in the priestly calendar is Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement. On this day, the high priest entered the holy of holies with the blood of the sacrifice to make atonement for the people (see Leviticus 16). Jesus, our high priest, entered the holy place once and for all with his own blood, obtaining eternal salvation for all who believe (Hebrews 9:11-12). This week as Jewish people around the world honor this holy day, let us pray for a revelation of Jesus the Messiah who has made complete atonement through His redeeming blood. Let us join with messianic believers for a day of fasting, repentance, and prayer – Tuesday evening (25.09) until Wednesday evening (26.09). Take time to read Scripture, to meditate on the work of the cross, to repent of sin, and to allow the blood of Jesus to cleanse your heart and renew your spirit.

Thank you, Jesus, that your blood has cleansed our conscience from dead works so that we might serve the living God (Hebrews 9:14).

Rosh Hashana (Rosz Ha-Szana)

I przemówił Pan do Mojżesza tymi słowy: Powiedz synom izraelskim tak: W miesiącu siódmym, pierwszego dnia tegoż miesiąca, będziecie mieli dzień odpoczynku, dzień pamiętny, obwołane trąbieniem, święte zgromadzenie. (III Księga Mojżeszowa 23; 23-24) Lecz przybliżył się koniec wszystkiego. Bądźcie więc roztropni i trzeźwi, abyście mogli się modlić. (I Piotra 4;7)

Today (from sundown on Sunday through sundown on Monday, Sept. 17) is Rosh HaShanah, the Jewish New Year, or the "Feast of Trumpets" as described in Leviticus 23 and Numbers 29. This holiday starts the fall feasts which is both a time of repentance and celebration. On this day as the trumpets blow, God calls His people to "wake up" and to repent before God. It is a time to look closely at our lives to see if there is anything not right between us and God. It is also a time of celebration as we recall the blessings of the past year and look forward to the new. We enjoy apples and honey and wish one another a sweet and prosperous new year. As believers, the trumpet blasts remind us of that Day when the trumpet will sound and Jesus will return to reign as King over Jerusalem and all the earth. May this be a season of new beginnings for each of us individually and for the Body of believers in Poland and throughout the world. May we, the Church, "wake up" to God's call and be holy and faithful witnesses as we prepare for His return.

Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, “Speak to the children of Israel, saying: ‘In the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you shall have a sabbath-rest, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, a holy convocation. (Leviticus 23:23-24) But the end of all things is at hand; therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers. (I Peter 4:7)

Sad about the "Sad"

Mieszkamy tu 23 lata i każdego roku we wrześniu jeździmy, by zbierać jabłka. To nasza tradycja rodzinna. Wjeżdżamy do sadu, zbieramy buszel jabłek (ok. 35l), a następnie próbujemy wina jabłkowego i ciepłych pączków cynamonowych. Jabłka chowamy do zamrażarki i przechowujemy do listopada.

Niewiarygodne!

(Ew. św. Mateusza 9;37-38)

Michigan is well-known for its wonderful apples. Only ten minutes from our home is a large apple orchard. We have lived in Michigan for 23 years and every September we go to the orchard to pick apples. It is our family tradition. We ride the wagon into the orchard, pick a bushel of apples, and then enjoy a cup of apple cider and a hot cinnamon doughnut. The apples fill our refrigerator and last into November. The smell of apple pie (Dave's favorite) fills our kitchen.

While in Poland this summer I heard that the apple crop was in jeopardy. Unseasonably warm weather in the spring followed by extreme frosts destroyed most of the crop. But it wasn't until a few days ago when I went to the orchard's website that the reality hit home. Instead of a list of apple-picking dates, there was a notice that read: This is unlike any other season we have had in our U-Pick history....There are no apples growing on our trees for you to pick. Unbelievable! It's a huge orchard with 1,000's of visitors from Detroit and the surrounding region. But then I discovered that the situation is the same at all the Michigan orchards. No apples.

I have learned from this to be thankful during seasons of plenty. It is easy to take the harvest for granted. Let us pray that God will produce an abundance of fruit in Poland and that we will be diligent workers in His field. Let us make the most of every moment while there is still time.

Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.” (Matt 9:37-38)

On Our Knees (Na Kolanach)

Pragnieniem naszych serc jest przebudzenie w Polsce by kościoły były zdrowe i pełne życia, rozwijały się i rosły w liczbie; by modlitwa i uwielbienie nabierały nowej pasji; by przywódcy napełnieni byli Duchem Bożem i kochali oraz służyli całym sercem; by imię Jezusa było wywyższone. W jaki sposób my jako organizacja z siedzibą w Stanach możemy najlepiej służyć polskim kościołom? Jak współpracować na rzecz Królestwa?

Modlimy się, by Bóg dał nam duchową wnikliwość i Bożą mądrość, kiedy będziemy podejmować kolejne kroki.

Kiedy Pan będzie do Was przemawiał, proszę mówicie nam o tym.

Życzymy błogosławieństw dla każdego z Was!

Since David and I first stepped foot in Poland in the summer of 1996, God has captured our hearts for your country. He has given us the desire to pray for the people of Poland and to serve there as often as He will allow. This past summer was another example of God's faithfulness as we hosted several camps for youth and adults at Ostróda Camp.

Now we are in a time of transition as David has accepted a position as director of PCM (Polish Christian Ministries). We are excited about all God will do as new doors of ministry open. Our primary focus right now, though, is to pray. Will you please join us? Our hearts' desire is for revival in Poland -- that churches will be healthy and vibrant, growing and reproducing; that prayer and worship will rise up with new passion; that leaders filled with the Spirit of God will love and serve with all their strength; that the name of Jesus will be lifted high. How can we, as an organization based in the States, best serve the churches in Poland? How can we best partner together for the sake of the Kingdom?

We pray that God will give all of us spiritual insight and divine wisdom as we move forward. The times are urgent -- we must be on our knees.

Thank you for praying with us! As the Lord speaks, please let us know. Blessings to each of you! God is faithful and His good plans for Poland will be accomplished.
