Usiedliśmy dziś z Davidem, by spojrzeć na nasze kalendarze i porozmawiać o planach na rok 2014. To będzie pracowity czas, pełen spotkań, podróży i szczegółów do dopracowania. Kiedy myślimy o tym wszystkim, co przed nami, możemy poczuć się przytłoczeni. Być może tak samo jest u Was: lista rzeczy do zrobienia jest długa i zdaje się, że każdego dnia staje się jeszcze dłuższa.
Gdy modliliśmy się w tym temacie, Bóg przypomniał nam, abyśmy pozostali skupieni na głównym celu. Czasami jesteśmy tak zapracowani, planując różne detale, że zapominamy o nadrzędnym celu, który za nimi stoi. Pomyśleliśmy o trzech głównych pragnieniach, które Bóg włożył w nasze serca odnoście naszej pracy misyjnej w Polsce:
Pragniemy, aby każdy Polak pokochał Boga i Jego Syna, Jezusa i wybrał życie pełne miłości i służby przez moc Ducha Świętego.
Pragniemy, aby każdy Polak był częścią kochającej wspólnoty wierzących, która będzie go zachęcać, aby być wiernym uczniem Jezusa.
Pragniemy, aby społeczność wierzących w Polsce miała wpływ na zmiany w polskim społeczeństwie ku Bożej chwale i dla ustanowienia Jego Królestwa na ziemi.
W tym tygodniu grupa polskich pastorów zgromadzi się w Warszawie na konferencji. Módlmy się, aby doznali zachęcenia, gdy będą wspólnie szukać Bożego oblicza. Módlmy się, aby Boża obecność wypełniła ich radością i odnowiła ich siły. Myśląc o wszystkich zadaniach, które są przed nimi, niech pamiętają o nadrzędnym celu i o Bożej mocy, która jest w stanie go osiągnąć. Módlmy się, by mieli świeże pragnienie głoszenia Ewangelii w swoich miastach i świecenia światłem Jezusa. Boże, nie pozwól nam stracić nadrzędnego celu sprzed oczu, gdy będziemy patrzeć na Ciebie!
A Jezus przystąpiwszy, rzekł do nich te słowa: Dana mi jest wszelka moc na niebie i na ziemi. Idźcie tedy i czyńcie uczniami wszystkie narody, chrzcząc je w imię Ojca i Syna, i Ducha Świętego, ucząc je przestrzegać wszystkiego, co wam przykazałem. A oto Ja jestem z wami po wszystkie dni aż do skończenia świata. (Mt. 28;18-20)
Dave and I sat down today to look at our calendars and talk about our plans for 2014. It will be a busy year, full of meetings, travel, and a lot of details. When we think of all we have to do, it can be overwhelming. Maybe it's the same for you -- the "to do" list is so long and each day it seems to get longer.
As we were praying about this, God reminded us to stay focused on the main thing. Sometimes we get so busy with all the details that we forget the purpose behind it all. We came up with three of the main desires God has placed on our hearts in relation to our mission work in Poland:
We desire that every Polish person would love God and His Son, Jesus, and would choose to live a life of love and service by the power of the Holy Spirit.
We desire that every Polish person would be part of a loving community of believers that will encourage them to be a faithful disciple of Jesus.
We desire that the community of believers in Poland will affect change in Polish society to the glory of God and the establishment of His kingdom on earth.
This week several of the Polish pastors will gather in Warsaw for a pastors' conference. Let us pray that they will be encouraged as they seek God's face together. Let us pray that the presence of the Lord will fill them with joy and renew their strength. In the midst of all the tasks before them, may they be reminded of the main goal and of God's power to accomplish it. May they have fresh desire to evangelize their cities and shine the light of Jesus. O God, help us keep the main thing the main thing as we keep our eyes on You!
And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you, and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."
