Hungry (Głodni)

Kocham polską kuchnię. Za każdym razem, gdy wracam do USA, tęsknię za Waszym jedzeniem - cudowny chleb, zupa, ser, pierogi, lody... Gdy tylko  o tym myślę, robię się głodna. :) Ale istnieje głód, który sięga dużo głębiej... głód, który rodzi się w głębi naszej duszy... głód duchowych rzeczy... głód Boga. Modląc sie i poszcząc, prośmy, by Polacy mogli stawać się głodni. Módlmy się o głęboką świadomość w ich sercach, że jest coś więcej niż życie na ziemi. Niech uświadomią sobie, że pieniądze, popularność, przyjemność, a nawet bycie "religijnym" - nie może zaspokoić. Módlmy się, by Boży Duch przynosił głód prawdy (Psalm 51;6), sprawiedliwości (Ew. Mateusza 5;6), głód samego Boga (Psalm 63;1-5). Dla tych z nas, którzy poszczą, doświadczenie bólu głodu niech będzie przypomnieniem, by modlić się o na nowo rozbudzony głód wśród Polaków. Niech "kosztują i widzą", że Pan jest dobry (Psalm 34;9). Niech zasiądą przy jego obfitym stole i świętują w Jego obecności (Pieśń nad Pieśniami 2;4). Niech przyjdą do Jezusa, który jest Chlebem Życia, i będą zupełnie nasyceni (Ew. Jana 6;35). O, Panie, przynieś głód do Polski... i niech rozpocznie się on we mnie!

I love Polish food.  Each time I return to the States I miss your food so much -- the wonderful chleb, ser, zupa, pierogi, lody ... yummm!  I'm making myself hungry even now just thinking about it. :)  But there is a hunger that goes much deeper ... a hunger that rises from the very depths of our soul ... a hunger for spiritual things ... a hunger for God.  As we pray and fast, let us pray that the people of Poland would become hungry.  Let us pray that there would be an increasing awareness deep in their hearts that there is something more to life.  May they realize that money, popularity, pleasure, even being "religious" does not satisfy.  Let us pray that the Spirit of God would bring a hunger for truth (Ps. 51:6), a hunger for righteousness (Matt. 5:6), a hunger for God Himself (Ps. 63:1-5). For those of us who are fasting, may each time we experience a pain of hunger we be reminded to pray for renewed hunger among the people of Poland.  May they "taste and see" that the Lord is good (Psalm 34:8). May they sit at His banqueting table and feast in His presence (Song of Songs 2:4). May they come to Jesus, the Bread of life, and be completely satisfied (John 6:35). Oh, Lord -- bring a hunger to Poland ...and may it begin in me!!
