Covenant (Przymierze)

W ten weekend nasza rodzina obchodziła bardzo wyjątkowy dzień - żenił się nasz syn, Josiah. Jesteśmy bardzo wdzięczni za Jorjette, pobożną, młoda kobietę, która jest teraz jego żoną i naszą synową. Podczas uroczystości Josiah i Jorjette weszli ze sobą w przymierze, ślubując miłość i lojalność przez resztę swojego życia. Modlimy się o Boże błogosławieństwo dla ich małżeństwa.

Bóg jest wiernym, dotrzymującym przymierza Bogiem (Neh. 1:5; Dan. 9:4). On spełnia Swoje obietnice. Jego miłość nigdy się nie zmienia. To Jego zamiarem było zjednoczyć mężczyznę i kobietę w małżeństwie, by byli obrazem Jezusa i Jego Oblubienicy, Kościoła. Kiedy Jezus stanowi centrum małżeństwa, małżeństwo to przetrwa i okaże się Boża miłość.

Modląc się i poszcząc w tym tygodniu, módlmy się za małżeństwa w Polsce. Módlmy się, by mężowie kochali swoje żony, jak Chrystus kocha Kościół. Módlmy się, by żony szanowały swoich mężów (Efez. 5:22-33). Módlmy się, by Bóg odnawiał złamane małżeństwa. Módlmy się, by był głową każdego domu. Módlmy się, aby Bóg był uwielbiony w polskich rodzinach.

This weekend our family celebrated a very special day as our son, Josiah, was married. We are very thankful for Jorjette, the godly young woman who is now his wife and our daughter-in-law. During the ceremony Josiah and Jorjette entered into a "covenant" with one another, to love and be loyal to one another for the rest of their lives. We pray God's blessing upon their marriage.

God is a faithful, covenant-keeping God (Neh. 1:5; Daniel 9:4). He keeps His promises. His love never changes. It was His idea to bring a man and woman together in marriage to be a picture of Jesus and His Bride, the Church. When Jesus is at the center of a marriage, the marriage will endure and God's love will be shown.

As we pray and fast this week, let us pray for marriages in Poland. Let us pray that husbands will love their wives like Christ loves the Church. Let us pray that wives will respect their husbands (Ephesians 5:22-33). Let us pray that God will restore broken marriages. Let us pray that Jesus will be the head of every household. Let us pray that God will be glorified among the families of Poland.
