Incredible! (Niesamowite!)

W piątek usłyszeliśmy wiadomość o deszczu meteorytów w środkowej Rosji. W tym samym czasie naukowcy bacznie obserwowali asteroidę o symbolu 2012 DA14, która mijała ziemię w odległości około 30 000km. W telewizji widzieliśmy obrazy ziemi zawieszonej w przestrzeni z przewidywaną trasą lotu asteroidy. Jak powiedział później jeden z dziennikarzy: "Kiedy byliście w pracy, asteroida po prostu przeleciała obok nas."

Rzadko zatrzymujemy się, by pomyśleć, że żyjemy na obracającej się kuli ziemskiej pędzącej gdzieś w przestrzeni. Obracając się wokół własnej osi z prędkością 0,5km/s, ziemia jednocześnie krąży wokół Słońca z prędkością 29,8 km/s. W tym samym czasie, nasz Układ Słoneczny porusza się w galaktyce Mleczna Droga z prędkością 250km/s. A Mleczna Droga porusza się się pośród innych galaktyk. Niesamowite!

Gdy oglądam niebo twoje, dzieło palców twoich, Księżyc i gwiazdy, które Ty ustanowiłeś:

Czymże jest człowiek, że o nim pamiętasz, Lub syn człowieczy, że go nawiedzasz? (Psalm 8; 4-5)

Władcy narodów mogą się szczycić, snuć plany, toczyć wojny, starać się o pokój, wypowiadać obietnice, ale ziemia należy do Pana i to On trzyma galaktyki w swoim ręku. Niech Polska i wszystkie narody ziemi oddają chwałę Stwórcy i w pokorze złożą w Nim swą ufność.

Chwalcie Pana z niebios, Chwalcie go na wysokościach!

Chwalcie go, wszyscy aniołowie jego, Chwalcie go, wszystkie zastępy jego!
Chwalcie go, słońce i księżycu, Chwalcie go, gwiazdy świecące!
Chwalcie go, najwyższe niebiosa I wody nad niebiosami!
Niech chwalą imię Pańskie, Bo On rozkazał i zostały stworzone!
Ustanowił je na wieki wieczne, Ustalił porządek, który nie minie.
... Niech chwalą imię Pana, Bo samo jego imię jest wzniosłe,

On Friday we heard the news of the meteor exploding over central Russia. At the same time, scientists were keeping a close eye on asteroid 2012 DA14 as it passed within 17,100 miles of earth. Television images showed the earth suspended in space with a diagram of the projected path of the asteroid. As one reporter later stated, "While you were working, an asteroid just flew by."

Seldom do we stop to consider that we are aboard a spinning sphere hurtling through space. Rotating on its axis at a speed of 0.5km/second, the earth orbits around the sun at a speed of 29.8km/second. At the same time, our solar system is moving through the Milky Way galaxy at a speed of 250km/sec. And the Milky Way galaxy is moving amongst the other galaxies. Incredible!

"When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars which You have ordained, what is man that You are mindful of him? ..."
(Psalm 8:3-4)

Rulers of nations may boast, make plans, go to war, seek peace, make promises ... but the earth belongs to the Lord and He holds the galaxies in His hand. May Poland and all the nations of the earth give praise to the Creator and humbly put their trust in Him.
