Freedom (Wolność)

Dzisiaj świętujemy 4. lipca - to urodziny Ameryki! Oglądamy parady, jemy grilowane hamburgery i kukurydzę i cieszymy się wielkimi fajerwerkami. To dzień świętowania wolności i czas, by oddać cześć tym, którzy zapłacili wielką cenę za tę wolność.

Modląc się w tym tygodniu, dziękujmy Bogu za wolność, którą mamy w Jezusie. Ze względu na cenę, którą poniósł On na krzyżu, mamy wolność od grzechu, wolność od poczucia winy, wolność od troski, wolność od strachu, wolność od znudzenia, wolność od śmierci (Rzymian 8;1-2, Obj. św. Jana 1;5, Psalm 119;32,45). Zasłużyliśmy na ból piekła, ale Bóg wyratował nas i uczynił wolnymi. Alleluja!!

Zarówno w Ameryce, jak i w Polsce możemy być wdzięczni za wolność w poszukiwaniu Boga i wyrażaniu naszej wiary w Niego. Módlmy się, abyśmy nadal mogli cieszyć się tą wolnośćią tak, aby Ewangelia była głoszona, a Królestwo Boże wzrastało. Módlmy się, aby ci, którzy wciąż znajdują się w niewoli grzechu i rozpaczy, znaleźli prawdziwą wolność, która jest jedynie w Jezusie (Ew. Łukasza 4;18, Ew. Jana 8;36).

Today we are celebrating the "Fourth of July" -- it is America's birthday! We watch parades, eat grilled hamburgers and corn-on-the-cob, and enjoy big fireworks. It is a day to celebrate freedom and to honor those who have paid a great price for that freedom.

As we pray this week, let us thank God for the freedom we have in Jesus. Because of the price He paid on the cross, we have freedom from sin, freedom from guilt, freedom from worry, freedom from fear, freedom from boredom, freedom from death (Romans 8:1-2; Revelation 1:5; Psalm 119:32, 45). We deserved the tortures of hell, but God rescued us and set us free! Hallelujah!!

We can be thankful that both in America and in Poland we now have freedom to seek God and to express our faith in Him. Let us pray that we will continue to enjoy such freedom so the Gospel can be proclaimed and God's kingdom will grow. Let us pray that those who are still in bondage to sin and despair will find the true freedom that is found only in Jesus (Luke 4:18; John 8:36).
