Persevere in Prayer and Fasting (Trwajmy w Modlitwie i Poście)

Bardzo się cieszę, że znowu jestem w Polsce. Przyleciałam do Warszawy i od razu zauważyłam, że niektóre rzeczy się zmieniły: podrożały bilety tramwajowe i autobusowe, powstały nowe, nowoczesne sklepy na dworcu centralnym, no i Chuck Norris pojawił się na billboardach w całym mieście;)

Teraz jestem na południu Polski, wykładając w CSM (Centrum Szkolenia Muzyków i Liderów Uwielbienia). Czuję się zachęcona, widząc tak wielu młodych muzyków, którzy mają wielkie serce dla Boga i są gotowi, by Mu służyć. Módlmy się, by uwielbienie w polskich kościołach rosło w siłę.

W tym tygodniu jest Purim wyjątkowe święto, które upamiętnia wydarzenia z czasów królowej Estery. To czas, by wychwalać naszego potężnego Boga, który zachowuje Swoich ludzi. Nasi przyjaciele z Izraela zaprosili nas, by dołączyć do nich w 12-godzinnym "poście Estery" w środę 7. marca, od 6 do 18. W czasie coraz silniejszych napięć między Iranem i Izraelem, czas modlitwy i postu jest jeszcze bardziej ważny niż kiedykolwiek. Pisząc ten list, otrzymałam wiadomość o tragicznym wypadku kolejowym, który zdarzył się dziś w nocy na Śląsku. Módlmy się za tymi, którzy ucierpieli w tym wydarzeniu. O, Panie, okaż swoją łaskę dla tych, którzy odczuwają ból! Trwajmy w modlitwie i poście, szukając Bożego oblicza. On jest naszym kochającym Bogiem, który ma moc, by zbawiać.

I am very happy to be in Poland once again. I arrived in Warsaw and realized quickly that some things have changed: the prices are higher for tram and bus tickets; there are new, modern shops in the central train station; and Chuck Norris now appears on billboards throughout the city. :) 

Now I am in southern Poland, teaching at CSM (school of music/worship). I am encouraged that there are so many young musicians who have a large heart for God and are eager to serve Him. Let us pray that worship will increase more and more throughout the churches of Poland.

This week is Purim -- the special holiday that remembers the events from the time of Queen Esther. It is a time to celebrate our powerful God who preserves His people. Our friends in Israel have invited us to join them in a 12-hour "Esther fast" on Wednesday, March 7, from 6am to 6pm. With the increasing tension between Iran and Israel, this season of prayer and fasting is more important than ever. As I write this email, I just received the news about a tragic train crash that just occurred tonight in Śląsk. Let us pray for all those who have suffered through this event. O Lord, show your mercy to those who are hurting! May we persevere in prayer, in fasting, in seeking the face of God. He is our loving God who is mighty to save.
