Power Over Death (Władza Nad Śmiercią)

Po tym jak Jezus wzbudził z martwych swojego przyjaciela Łazarza, wielu Żydów uwierzyło w Niego. Z kolei arcykapłani i faryzeusze spiskowali, jak zabić zarówno Jezusa i Łazarza (Ew. Jana 12; 10-22). Najwyraźniej, nie wzięli tego pod uwagę, że gdyby zabili Łazarza, Jezus ponownie mógłby go wskrzesić – albo gdyby zabili Jezusa, mógłby On wskrzesić samego Siebie. Któż by pomyślał, że można mieć taką władzę nad śmiercią?

To właśnie ta władza nad śmiercią wyróżnia chrześcijaństwo spośród innych religii. Nie ma nikogo jak nasz Bóg, który pokonał śmierć, grzech i grób (I Koryntian 15;55-57). Jedynie On może wziąć kogoś takiego jak ja, martwego w swoich grzechach, i ożywić na wieki (Efezjan 2;4-5). Świętując w tym tygodniu zmartwychwstanie Jezusa, rozważmy na nowo realność Jego zwycięstwa. On jest prawdziwym zmartwychwstałym Królem, pierworodnym z umarłych. Śmierć nie miała ostatniego słowa, dlatego jest NADZIEJA w imieniu Jezusa. Niech to Imię w tym tygodniu będzie uwielbione w każdym polskim mieście i wsi, a Jego nadzieja niech napełni każde serce.

“Temu, który siedzi na tronie, i Barankowi, błogosławieństwo i cześć, i chwała, i moc na wieki wieków.” (Objawienie św. Jana 5;13b)

Wesołych Świąt Wielkanocnych!

After Jesus raised his friend Lazarus from the dead, many of the Jews believed in Him. The chief priests and Pharisees, on the other hand, plotted how they could kill both Jesus and Lazarus (John 12:10-22). Apparently, they didn't consider that if they killed Lazarus, Jesus could raise him again -- or if they killed Jesus, He could raise Himself. But, who would think that anyone could have such power over death?

This power over death is what sets Christianity apart from all other religions. There is no one like our God who conquers death, sin, and the grave (I Cor. 15:55-57). He alone can take someone like me, who was dead in my sins, and make me alive forevermore (Eph. 2:4-5). This week as we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord Jesus, let us consider anew the reality of His victory. He is truly the risen King and the firstborn from the dead. Death does not have the final word -- there is HOPE in the name of Jesus. May His name be lifted high this week in every city, town, and village of Poland, and may His hope fill every heart.

"Blessing and honor and glory and power be to Him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb, forever and ever!" (Rev. 5:13)
