Stolen (Skradziony)

Jana 10;7-10). Często jestem nieostrożna w duchowej dyscyplinie, pozwalając mu, by kradł radość, pokój i nadzieję, które mam w Jezusie.

Those of you who know me well know that I almost always have my camera with me. I am always eager to capture some special moment. Thus you can understand my dismay when I left my camera on a park bench yesterday in Warsaw. I returned for it about 15 minutes later, but it was gone. I guess someone else is enjoying my camera and all the photos now.

I'm upset with myself for being careless, yet I'm also upset that someone would take what doesn't belong to them. I feel violated. But thievery has been around for a long time. Jesus describes Satan as the ultimate thief who comes to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:7-10). He wants to rob us of the abundant life and all that is good. When I see a drunken man lying on the sidewalk, or an orphaned child begging for coins, or a scantily clad woman selling herself on the side of the road, I realize they're being robbed of the abundant life. Yes, sometimes it may be because of their own carelessness, but it's the plan of our enemy, the devil, to ruin their lives. And I am often careless in my spiritual discipline, allowing him to steal the joy, peace, and hope that is mine in Christ.

Let us resist the devil, staying close to the Shepherd of our souls, hearing His voice and trusting His care. Let us not hold our possessions too tightly, for they can quickly be taken from us. Let us take a stand against the evil one who would come to steal and destroy and let us pray that every Pole will experience the full and abundant life that comes from Jesus, the Good Shepherd.

Niech Ostróda i każde miasto w Polsce doświadczy miłości, radości i nadziei, którą można odnaleźć w Jezusie, kiedy my -- Jego Ciało -- lśnimy Jego światłością.

This week David and I are very excited to host a group from Taylor University (Indiana). These 12 university students and their 2 leaders have traveled to Poland during their spring break in order to serve the people of Ostróda. We will be doing work projects at the Ostróda Camp to help prepare the facility for the summer camp season. Andrzej Korytkowski, our new camp director, is thankful they have come and is putting them to work! :) We will also spend 2 days in the public high school, interacting with 96 students in their English classes. We are inviting these high school students to a party on Friday evening, hoping to build some lasting relationships. Will you please join us in praying that the light of Jesus will shine brightly in Ostróda ... not only this week, but in the days to come?

May Ostróda and every town throughout Poland experience the love, joy, and hope that is found in Jesus as we, His Body, shine the Light.

Key to Revival (Klucz do Przebudzenia)

(Ew. Mateusza 11;29)

Our God is a humble God. Have you ever stopped to think about it? It is truly amazing that the great God who created the entire universe has the heart of a servant. Jesus came as a perfect picture of the Father, and as he knelt before his disciples and washed their feet, we, like Peter, can hardly take it in (John 13:3-9). How can the One so worthy humble himself in such a way to serve those who are so unworthy?

But this is our God. There is no other God like him, willing to empty himself and become a man (Phil. 2:5-8). He did not seek man's approval, but was willing to be misunderstood and unappreciated. He didn't insist on his own rights or demand special privileges. He was content to be common. And even now he understands us and is patient with our weaknesses and failures. He is easy to talk to for he welcomes us in gentle kindness.

Oh, that we would walk in such humility! It is my prayer for my own life and for all of us who follow Jesus - that we would be clothed in the humility of Christ. Have you ever met a humble man or woman -- who is strong in the Spirit of God, powerful in the Word, yet humble in speech and action? Such people are a rare treasure, yet this is who we are all called to be in Christ.

I truly believe that humility is the key to revival in our churches. The time is short and we must be done with pride and all the divisions that it brings. Let us pray that a spirit of humility will fill every congregation in Poland. May the leaders of the churches set the example by sincerely serving their people with a humble attitude. Would you please make us like you, God -- "gentle and lowly in heart" (Matt. 11:29)?

Tragedy

As you may already know, Poland has just suffered another major tragedy. On Saturday evening, 2 passenger trains collided head-on, killing 16 and injuring several more. An American woman was killed in the crash which has prompted friends of ours in Poland to contact me as they were afraid that I was on that train. Actually, I took a similar train on Friday afternoon, traveling 5 hours to southern Poland. We travel on trains constantly while in Poland, and it never occurs to us that a collision like this could occur. President Komorowski has declared today and tomorrow as days of national mourning. Polish flags are flying with black ribbons attached and many public events have been canceled. Please join us in praying for the families of those who perished as well as for those who are hospitalized, many of them in serious condition. I am now in Warsaw for 2 days before traveling by train to Ostróda on Wednesday. I just came from a weekend with CSM (school of music/worship) -- and it was a very blessed time. I had the privilege to teach 4 main sessions and God was so faithful to minister among us. Thank you for your prayers!!

Persevere in Prayer and Fasting (Trwajmy w Modlitwie i Poście)

To czas, by wychwalać naszego potężnego Boga, który zachowuje Swoich ludzi. Nasi przyjaciele z Izraela zaprosili nas, by dołączyć do nich w 12-godzinnym "poście Estery" w środę 7. marca, od 6 do 18.

Trwajmy w modlitwie i poście, szukając Bożego oblicza. On jest naszym kochającym Bogiem, który ma moc, by zbawiać.

I am very happy to be in Poland once again. I arrived in Warsaw and realized quickly that some things have changed: the prices are higher for tram and bus tickets; there are new, modern shops in the central train station; and Chuck Norris now appears on billboards throughout the city. :)

Now I am in southern Poland, teaching at CSM (school of music/worship). I am encouraged that there are so many young musicians who have a large heart for God and are eager to serve Him. Let us pray that worship will increase more and more throughout the churches of Poland.

This week is Purim -- the special holiday that remembers the events from the time of Queen Esther. It is a time to celebrate our powerful God who preserves His people. Our friends in Israel have invited us to join them in a 12-hour "Esther fast" on Wednesday, March 7, from 6am to 6pm. With the increasing tension between Iran and Israel, this season of prayer and fasting is more important than ever. For more information about this fast, please see this link (in English): http://mishkanelohai.com/esther/

As I write this email, I just received the news about a tragic train crash that just occurred tonight in Śląsk. Let us pray for all those who have suffered through this event. O Lord, show your mercy to those who are hurting! May we persevere in prayer, in fasting, in seeking the face of God. He is our loving God who is mighty to save.
