Keep Praying! (Módlcie się!)

Kilkanaście lat temu, kiedy David i ja mieszkaliśmy w Indianapolis (Indiana), miałam przywilej poznać Dona DeWelt - bardzo pobożnego człowieka szanowanego przez kościoły chrześcijańskie. Napisał kilka książek i nauczał na temat mocy modlitwy. Pamiętam jak jechałam z nim samochodem - zdenerwowana, że jestem w obecności tego starszego pana, którego darzyłam szacunkiem. Rozmawialiśmy o modlitwie i w pewnym momencie przyznałam, że czasami jest mi trudno się modlić. Wtedy odwrócił się do mnie i powiedział coś takiego: "Sandy, modlę się wiele, wiele lat. I wciąż za każdym razem, gdy idę się modlić, toczy się bitwa przy drzwiach mojej komory".

Nigdy nie zapomnę tych słów, które do mnie wypowiedział. Don przypomniał mi, że modlitwa jest najważniejszą i najpotężniejszą rzeczą, jaką możemy robić - i dlatego Szatan jest zdeterminowany, aby nas od tego odwieść. Musimy walczyć o ten czas z Bogiem. Bóg pragnie spotkać się z nami, dzielić się Swoim sercem, dawać nam mądrość i objawienie, zmieniać historię przez nasze modlitwy. Więc zachęcam Was dzisiaj - MÓDLCIE SIĘ! Nie rezygnujcie! (Kolosan 4;2). Znajdźcie czas, aby być w samotności z Bogiem. Być może jesteście zajęci robieniem wielu dobrych rzeczy i służeniem Bogu - ale błagam Was, ponad wszystko inne - MÓDLCIE SIĘ. Wylewajcie swoje serca przed Nim, bo Bóg jest naszym schronieniem (Psalm 62;8).

O, Boże! Kochamy Cię i chcemy szukać Ciebie całym sercem! Czy uczynisz nas ludźmi modlitwy? Czy wzbudzisz głód w Polakach, tak abyśmy byli na kolanach, pokornie szukając Twojej twarzy? Bo naprawdę nie ma większej radości niż poznanie Ciebie.

Several years ago when David and I lived in Indianapolis, Indiana, I had the privilege of meeting Don DeWelt, a very godly man who was well-respected among Christian churches. He had written several books and often taught on the power of prayer. I remember riding in the car with him, nervous to be in the presence of this older gentleman whom I held in such high regard. We talked about prayer and at one point I admitted that sometimes it was difficult for me to pray. He turned to me and said something like this: "Sandy, I have been praying for many, many years. But still, every time I go to pray, there is a battle at the door of my prayer closet."

I will never forget these words he spoke to me. Don went on to remind me that prayer is the most important and powerful thing we can do -- therefore, Satan is determined to keep us from it. We must fight for this time with God. God desires to meet with us, to share His heart with us, to give us wisdom and revelation, to change history through our prayers. So I encourage you today -- KEEP PRAYING! Don't give up! (Col. 4:2) Find time to be alone with God. Maybe you are busy doing many good things and serving God, but I beg you ... before everything else, PRAY! Pour out your heart to Him, for God is our refuge (Ps. 62:8).

O God! We love You and want to seek You with all our hearts! Would You make us a people of prayer? Would You stir a hunger in the people of Poland so that we would be on our knees, humbly seeking Your face? For truly there is no greater joy than knowing You.
