W 1998 roku uczestniczyłam w trzytygodniowym muzycznym tournée w środkowej Polsce. Pamiętam, że niemal w każdym mieście spotykałam się z nazwą ulicy „11. Listopada”. Nie wiedziałam, co ona oznacza. Od tamtej pory zdążyłam się już zapoznać ze znaczeniem słów takich jak rozbiór, Piłsudski i niepodległość. W najbliższy poniedziałek (11. listopada) obchodzicie w Polsce Narodowe Święto Niepodległości; my w Stanach z kolei świętujemy Dzień Weteranów, by uhonorować wszystkich ludzi, którzy służyli w naszym wojsku na rzecz wolności.
Dziękujmy w tym tygodniu Bogu, że obecnie cieszymy się w naszych krajach wolnością zgromadzania i uwielbiania imienia Jezusa. Módlmy się, abyśmy wykorzystywali większość tego czasu na śmiałe ogłaszanie Jego imienia i starania, by budować Jego Królestwo. Prawdziwa wolność stała się możliwa dzięki najwyższej ofierze Człowieka – Jezusa. Zerwanie naszych kajdan i uwolnienie z niewoli grzechu i własnego „ja” zależało tylko od Niego. Niech każdy Polak zazna radości i wyzwolenia, które płyną z relacji z Jezusem.
W tym tygodniu jedziemy z Davidem do Kansas City w stanie Missouri, by wziąć udział w Międzynarodowej Konferencji Misyjnej (International Conference on Missions, ICOM). Zgromadzimy się tam z innymi misjonarzami i osobami wierzącymi, by wielbić Boga, uczyć się na podstawie Jego Słowa i zachęcać się nawzajem do głoszenia przesłania ewangelicznego. Reprezentujemy z Davidem naród polski; módlcie się zatem, aby Bóg wlał w serca wielu ludzi pragnienie modlitwy za Wasz kraj, a także pragnienie wsparcia pracy, którą Bóg tutaj czyni. Niech przesłanie wolności rozprzestrzenia się żywo i z mocą w całej Polsce oraz wszystkich narodach Ziemi!
In 1998 I took part in a 3-week music tour throughout the central region of Poland. I can remember seeing the street name "11 Listopada" ("November 11") in almost every town. I didn't know what it meant. Since then, I have learned the significance of words like: partition and Piłsudski. This Monday (11/11) as you celebrate your "National Independence Day," here in America we celebrate "Veteran's Day" (11/11) as we honor those men and women who have served in our military for the sake of freedom.
This week let us give thanks to God that in both of our nations we currently enjoy the freedom to assemble and to worship the name of Jesus. Let us pray that we will make the most of this time to boldly declare His name and seek to build His kingdom. True freedom has been made possible by the ultimate sacrifice of one man -- Jesus. It is only in complete dependence upon Him that our chains are broken and we are set free from the slavery to self and sin. May every Pole experience the joy and liberation that comes in relationship with Him.
This week David and I will be traveling to Kansas City, Missouri, to attend the International Conference On Missions (ICOM). Missionaries and believers from all over the world will gather to worship God, learn from His Word, and encourage each other to proclaim the Gospel message. As David and I represent the nation of Poland, please join us in praying that God will place a desire in the hearts of many people to pray for Poland and to support the work God is doing there. May the message of freedom go forth with life and power throughout Poland and to all the nations of the earth!
